Mālā Making & Mantra Workshop

This one day worksho promises to be magical day of community, making, mantra and meditation.

In the morning we'll use a meditation to select the beads of our mālā before mindfully constructing these in a meditative way. We'll also talk about the history prayer beads, how they appear in many cultures and how to correctly use them. The significance of the number of beads

In the afternoon we'll learn about mantra, how it differs from singing and chanting. We'll do a meditative sounding together of the Sanskrit alphabet before learning a mantra, it's literal and deeper meaning before undertaking a japa mantra meditation together  

And don't worry, this is going to be the opposite of academic we’ll do this through the oral tradition (śruti parampara ) of listening and repeating along side our meditations. It's honestly going to be a gorgeous day.
